Split

First city stop of Croatia...Split. As soon as we got to this city I knew I was going to love it...the busy streets and local markets including fish, fresh fruit and vegetables, bits and bobs e.g. hats, shoes etc. not to mention the gorgeous restaurants and beaches. Split is the place to go. We spent three nights in Split. The first night we spent walking to a beach a few kilometres away for dinner and was just in time to watch the sunset (however forgot to bring the camera!). On our first day, we took the time to go for a wander of the city. There was a big castle right in the heart of the city (over 2000 years old) where shops, restaurants and people lived, not like your usual castle!! We took the time to explore in and around this area which had many cute restaurants and beautiful architecture.

The next day we went for another wander in the morning and then drove down the coast in hunt for little beaches to go swimming and snorkeling. We found a beach that was supposedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Split, it lived up to its expectations...even though the water was freezing. That night we ate at a little local seafood restaurant and then it was time for some hazelnut and chocolate ice cream. Delicious!!
