Hvar Island

If you're looking for an alternative to the Greek Islands look no further than Hvar Island. A beautiful island off the coast of Split, that is built on limestone rock and azure blue waters. Whilst in Hvar we spent the time snorkelling among the reefs and spotting lots of colourful fish. Going for runs up to the castle on top of the hill as well as just relaxing and enjoying the serenity of this area. We were planning on hiring a boat and sailing around the island to find the top snorkelling areas on our last day, however Mother Nature did not agree with us and it poured with rain in the morning and was choppy in the afternoon.

We stayed in a little villa about a 15 minute walk to town one way and a 10 minute walk to a little beach the other way, as well as many perfect snorkelling spots only minutes away from our door. Hvar Island is known as the 'party town' of Croatia, which was clearly shown on our first night in which every man and their boat came ashore for a giant drinking, partying fiesta!! quite amusing to watch but don't worry I was not planning on joining in. There are not many cars on the Island as you are able to walk/ride everywhere as the island is only small. I am already missing this place and have only been gone for a few weeks!
